Madam Bhikaji Cama
Bhaikaji cama was a freedom fighter. She was an excellent speaker. Through her speeches, she put realistic pictures of contemporary india. Being a prolific writer, she used to write revolutionary ideas in the newspaper vande Mataram. Indra priyadarshni Gandhi popularly know as Indira Gandhi was born baby on November 19,1917 In Allahabad. She was the only child of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. At the age of 13 years, she organised a Monkey Army (Vanar Sena). This army was young teenagers. This was an indication of her intention to fight for the freedom of the country. After the death of lal Bahadur Shastri, Indra Gandhi become the third prime minister of India on January 24,1966. She worked a lot for the uplift ment for poor. She was assassinated on October 31,1984 by her two security guards.
Medha Patekar an environment is the leader of the Narmada Bachao Andolan (Save Narmada Movement). This movement is focused to stop, the construction of dams on Narmada river. As Sadda Sarvora project would leave approximately three lakh tribals homeless, so Medha Patekar came forward to protest in 1985. Medha patekar in recognition of her efforts was awarded Goldman Environmental Prize in year 1992.
P. T. Usha
P. T. Usha become the best sprinter of not only Indian, but also of Asia. She Started with her career in the Asian Games in 1982. She bagged two gold medals in the 100 meter and 200 meter races. In Asiad held at Seoul in 1986,she achieved the distinction of winning the maximum number of gold medals by asingel athlete. P. T. Usha is honoured with Arjuna Award and Padam Shri Award.
